Why did support end for DCU 100 tablets running Windows 7?
Microsoft is no longer supporting security updates, technical support, and related services for devices running Windows 7. Without these critical updates, devices running Windows 7 are no longer protected and will be at greater risk for viruses and malware.
What does DCU 100 Windows 7 End of Support mean for you?
As of January 2024, older Bosch tablets (DCU 100) running Windows 7 are not capable of receiving new software updates or security fixes. This message was communicated via on-tablet notifications prior to January.
What can I do now?

Option #2: Transfer your software subscription to a personal device that meets the recommended spec requirements below.

How do I transfer my active subscription to my new tablet?
All ACTIVE subscriptions will require a device with Windows 10 to continue to download and install/activate software updates.
To transfer your active subscription to your new tablet, please e-mail our Technical Support team at tech@otctools.com with the following required information:
- Email Subject Line: Transfer my active software subscription
- First & Last Name
- Phone Number
- Customer Number
- Your Contract Number
- VCI Serial Number (Found on the back of your KTS truck box, reference image below)

A member of our support team will sever your contract from your current tool within 1 business day* of receiving your email request. You will receive an email confirming the contract has been severed, along with instructions on how to activate your software subscription on your new device.
Once your contract has been severed, click here to download Diagnostic Download Manager (DDM) on your new device, and follow the instructions provided by our Technical Support team to download and install the software on your new device.
*For customers with active subscriptions, please note that contracts will typically be severed within 1 business day. For customers with ELS subscriptions, the contracts will be severed within 2 business days. We always strive to respond promptly, and in cases where it’s feasible, we aim to provide same-day assistance.
FAQs for DCU 100 Tablet Owners
Will my DCU 100 Windows 7 tablet stop working?
No. Support for Windows 7 is discontinued, but the tablet will continue to function. However, Bosch will no longer provide the following:
- Technical support of any issue
- Repairs
- Software updates
- Security updates or fixes
I don’t have an active software subscription, and I am operating in Extended License Subscription (ELS) mode. How does this impact me?
Your DCU 100 tablet will continue to function as-is, but will not be able to support new software updates or security fixes. For a list of features supported in ELS mode, please click the button below.
However, all ACTIVE subscriptions will require a device with Windows 10 to continue to download and install/activate software updates.
